Florence!

This week I took a trip to Flornce to visit the Pitti Filati yarn fair. The fair was magnificant and a really inspiring when it comes to how carefull you should be when it comes to choice of yarn. I am completely blown away by some of the things I saw at the yarn fair.

As my previous photographs have looked at light and water, I took some photographs during my stay in Florence to include in my work, looking at this as well. I have so many photographs but I will only upload a few as it would be impractical to include them all. I will however present them in a sketchbook.

I am more inspired by the purple/blue colour palette of these photographs and will explore this more than the brown hues of my last set of photographs. I really really like the broken/fuzzy lines that I have seen in these photos and they remind me of some kind of wool, maybe mohair, and this could be use in my weft, combining the use of floats and trapped pieces of the wool against a more solid coloured background.
